President’s Message
What a season we have had! And to conclude this season we have our grand finale Centre Games Day.
This week is the Centre Games competition day and for those new to the centre it involves a number of key differences:
1. Warm ups are at 8:15am (Javelin at 7:45am)
2. Age groups will not be called to events (no age group manager co-ordination) – athletes are expected to be at the marshalling area at the correct time or they cannot compete
3. Parents have been allocated a duty – please ensure you are at the allocated event on time
4. Some events will have heats and finals.
5. Bruce Seeley Shield awarded to club with most points. Please note Marshalling for the first events start at 8:30am. The competition is scheduled to run all day to about 4:30pm. Parent Officials Duties will run in three shifts, so be sure to get to the track early to see what your family is scheduled to do. I would like to thank all the Age Group Managers who have done a great job this year. Being able to keep your groups all together and performing at their best week after week during the very hot conditions that we have experienced this season is to be commended.
A big thank you goes to the volunteers who have kept us all going with hot food and cold drinks. Thank you to Michelle, John, Emma, Melissa, Andrew, Graeme and Bart.
Once the summer season of Track and Field athletics is finished your little athletes don’t have to stop running they can join the Cross Country Season. For only $20 for existing Registered Athletes they can run every week. The season starts on Sunday 21st April 2013, or if Sunday doesn’t suit you can join Knox on Saturday mornings.
Reminder: Presentation Day Saturday 13th April 2013 10:00am – 12:00pm
AGM Monday 22nd April 2013 7:00pm
I hope everyone has an enjoyable centre games competition this week!
